Neighborhood Housing Services of Southern Nevada (NHSSN) is supporting CCSD teachers before the start of this school year with Praising Educators, a donation event to provide one local elementary school with much-needed school supplies.
This event, spearheaded by NHSSN’s Community Building & Engagement Committee, will benefit teachers at one Title 1 Elementary School in District 3, by collecting school supplies and donating them to teachers, which will directly benefit their students. For this first-ever event, school administrators asked NHSSN that this school remain a secret.
NHSSN is calling all in the community who wish to help our school in need, to drop off donated school supplies to the NHSSN office by Monday, July 24th – all donations will then be boxed and distributed to teachers on August 2nd.
As with many public schools across our nation, local educators purchase supplies for their students out[1]of-pocket every year. As an organization with deep roots in our local neighborhoods, NHSSN is proud to host Praising Educators to alleviate some of this financial burden and show local teachers community support.
Some urgently needed supplies include construction paper, dry erase markers and erasers, pencils, pens, and Ziplock storage bags. For a full list of requested donations, please visit mynhssn.org/events.
Donations can be dropped off at the NHSSN office, 1849 Civic Center, North Las Vegas, Nevada, 89030, Monday-Thursday, 7am-5:30pm. Donation deadline is Monday, July 24th .
