Down Payment Assistance

Need help with your down payment for a home?
Our team of homeownership experts provides guidance on the Workforce Initiative Subsidy for Homeownership (WISH) Program, a grant designed to help first-time homebuyers overcome down payment barriers.
The WISH Program supports low- to moderate-income households with a 4-to-1 matching grant, offering up to $32,099, aligned with the Federal Housing Finance Agency’s annual subsidy limit. These funds can be applied toward down payments and closing costs, making homeownership more attainable. Additionally, WISH grants can be combined with other local, state, and federal homeownership programs, helping individuals and families transition from renting to owning a home.
How to determine
if you qualify.
To be eligible for WISH Program funds, homebuyers must meet the following criteria:
-
Successfully complete a first-time homebuyer education program and a homebuyer counseling program.
-
Be a first-time homebuyer, as defined by the Bank in its AHP Implementation Plan.
-
Meet income eligibility requirements, which must be at or below 80% of the HUD area median income at the time of enrollment, as published by the Bank.
